NapierProbably – almost certainly – the most coveted record to hold and so tantalisingly close to the 20Lb mark.

JohnnyhI don’t think we can complain about commercial fishermen killing 36cm bass when we kill such a beautiful creature to have it stuffed. Shame on you Steve

DaveyBParticipantThat fish would probably be dead in a few years anyway, so I can’t see the problem will knocking it on the head. I would have killed it myself, but I would have eaten it too!
Awesome fish, and a very well deserved record Steve. You put the hours in for her and you got your reward – I’m just sitting here as jealous as hell!Nice one. -

SpenceReally DaveB?
You don`t think that such an immense creature that has probably survived 30-40years avoiding disease, natural predators, commercial nets and what was to be her final downfall>> anglers ,deserve any respect at all?I`m not trying to take anything away from Steves catch, and fair play to him. But,I would like to think that I would have returned her from whence she came, if the opportunity ever came my way…although extremely unlikely.
I saw the fish being shown on tv tonight in its frozen form and couldn`t help thinking to myself how pitiful it looked 🙁http://www.itvlocal.com/meridian/news/

Razor Edgethink i was talking to u on taxidermy.net
depends on the species, wether you want it skin mounted or cast
at the moment im non commercial (though when i move in to student accomodation i may do some paid work)
anyway my best bet would be phill legit his fish work is very impressive and is highly awarded by the guild of taxidermists

Back-lashParticipantHave to admit I am with the put it back brigade, I caught and released the BR Stingray in 2003, it was still verified by the NFSA. If you have enough witnesses and calibrated scales and photos then you can still claim the record and return the fish.
Well done to the guy anyway , its probably the most prestigous one to have.~clap ~clap -
