FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS . The spawning activity during the week saw sport was a little more difficult with match weights to around 80lb best with pellet waggler or bomb and pellet the top tactics although late in the day the margins can be very good on corn or dead maggots. Carp anglers have caught some good fish particularly at night with carp to 26lb coming out to boilies fished over a pva bag or method feeder.
GEARYS . Still fishing well with match weights to over 160lb despite a lot of fish spawning on the warmer days. The best tactics in matches have been the pellet waggler, pole and hard pellet both shallow or on the bottom and method feeder with wafter or dead maggot on the hook. Carp anglers have caught fish to 25lb using a boilie fished over a PVA bag fished out to the middle stumps and down the margins late in the day.
LITTLE GEARYS A little trickier this week with nets to around 100lb best . The F1s are still onto the meat fished short or in the margins but a small method feeder to the island or bomb and pellet is also working. Pegs 7 – 13 and 23-29 have been the most consistent pegs but a good rule of thumb is to fish where the wind is blowing to.
ANNIVERSARIES Nets to around 70lb best with pegs 1-10 and 14-17 most consistent. Pole fished pellet or caster shallow and, on the deck, has been working well ,on the wider areas ,waggler or bomb with 6mm pellet has been picking up a few fish.
SIBLINGS A Much better this week with catches to 125lb with some cracking sized carp and f1s coming out . The best tactic has still been meat fished short but long down the margins on corn ,dead reds or pellet fished over micros is also working. Shallow pellet or caster is also starting to produce and a mugging rig can pick up a few better sized carp.
SIBLINGS B . Nets to 100lb this week with the bigger f1s starting to switch onto the caster fished shallow or down the edges. The bigger carp are coming to dobbing along the far side or to corn or dead maggots fished tight up to the far bank or down the margins with fish into double figures showing.
GRATUITIES Carp nets to around 50lb coming to a method feeder to the island, pellet waggler or down the margins on corn or meat. Nice mixed nets of carp ,f1s, skimmers ,roach and even a few chub coming to pole fished maggot or caster .
WILLOW Shallow pole with caster or pellet is accounting for the bigger catches with carp and f1s to 5lb coming to this. Pellet waggler or method feeder to the island is also working and later in the day carp and f1s are coming down the margins with meat ,corn or worms fished over micros accounting for some nice fish.
