FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS Overnight frosts and high pressure during the day meant that the fishing could be tough in the mornings but picked up through the day. Match nets to 130lb were caught and in the matches bomb with pellet or wafter ,pellet waggler and long pole with meat or banded pellet have been the top tactics. Carp anglers have had good catches with fish to 23lb reported and with a few more over the 20lb mark showing. On the warmer days surface fishing worked well but generally a boilie or a pop up fished with a PVA bag has worked best.
GEARYS Match nets to over 135lb and pleasure nets exceeding that, with carp to over 22lb featuring in catches. Bomb with PVA Bag and wafter has still been the top tactic but method feeder , long pole with banded hard pellet and down the margins with corn or dead reds over micros have also worked well. There are some nice nets of skimmers being caught with corn or maggot fished over micros or groundbait.
LITTLE GEARYS The F1s were affected by the high pressure but anglers fishing later in the day had catches to over 100lb with F1s to 6lb and carp into double figures making up the catches. Long pole with maggot ,caster or pellet fished on the deck or shallow ,bomb with pellet or wafter and down the margins with meat ,corner dead maggot have all worked well at time with the most consistent pegs from 7-21.
SIBLINGS A . Still the most consistent area has been from pegs 17 – 21 with carp and f1s showing in were affected by the high nets to 50lb. Banded hard 4mm or expander pellet fished tight up to the island has worked best but dobbing bread or corn has still been catching and picking out some nice carp into double figures.
SIBLINGS B Shallow tactics are starting to work with f1 nets to around 50lb coming to maggot ,caster or 4mm pellet fish down the middle of the pool. Meat, worm or corn fished down the edges has picked up better sized carp and f1s later in the day. The most consistent pegs have been 5- 10.
ANNIES The top end of the pool was best this week with pegs 1-10 and 17- 23 producing nets to over 40lb with carp to 15lb and f1s to 7lb being caught. Pole fished meat or 4mm pellet and waggler/bomb with 6mm pellet have been the best tactics
WILLOW Like all of the pools sport was affected by the colder nights but nets to 70lb were still being caught last week with the f1s showing better and carp from 2-6lb providing the best chance of action with the odd double figure carp featuring. Waggler, bomb or a method feeder to the island or long pole with corn ,banded pellet or maggot have been the best tactics.
GRATUITIES Carp to 15lb featured in catches last week with the noted corner pegs 1,8,9 and 15 still producing the better carp sport on float fished corn or worm down the edges. On the other pegs method feeder or waggler tight up to the island has worked best. Grats offers good mixed nets of Skimmers, F1s ,chub and roach fishing maggot or caster down the middle of the pool.
