The high quality fish has been a big feature of this season with lots of overwintered rainbows showing from the start. The shiny silver, big tailed fish keep appearing from bank and boat.
Stocking continues twice each week with plenty of fresh fish, but the option is still always there to hunt out those hard fighting resident fish.

Praise and thanks are long overdue for our fish supplier Mr Andrew Maund of Exe Valley Fishery for the fantastic fish he produces. Andrew has been Draycote’s sole supplier for nearly twenty years.

Mr Eric Whale of Coventry played a brownie until it eventually broke the surface and leapt into the bottom of his boat. He sportingly returned the 6lbs 8ozs fish to the water.

Best rainbow was 12lbs 10ozs to Coventry bank angler Mr Ian Smith on an Orange Damsel.
Mr Tony Broadway also from Coventry took a 10lbs 2ozs rainbow from the Tower Paddock bank.
Heaviest eight fish limit was 33lbs 1ozs which included a 9lbs 11ozs rainbow to Bromsgrove boat regular Mr John Hoskins on a Cormorant fishing near to the Inlet. Potteries man Mr David Jackson boated eight for 30lbs 2ozs..
There were many other good limits also.

Best patterns have been Green Buzzer, Black Buzzer, Diawl Bach, Hares Ear and Damsel.
Various Blobs and Fritzy lures have also done well in the brighter, flatter conditions.

Boats have done best at the Tower, Draycote Dam, Lin Croft Point and Toft Bay.

The best bank areas have been the Flat Stones and the Tower Paddock.
