        Comments :

Bedworth boat angler Mr Jim Dempsey caught the week’s best brown at 7lbs 12ozs near to Draycote Dam and in total his bag of seven fish weighed a creditable 25lbs 8ozs.

Another deep water boat expert Mr Melvyn Severn of Loscoe took a brown for 6lbs 8ozs and his bag of eight fish weighed 28lbs 00ozs in total.

Mr Ivor Jones of Perton took eight for 28lbs 12ozs and that included the week’s best rainbow at 8lbs 12ozs.

The week’s heaviest eight fish limit was 29lbs 8ozs taken by Leicester boat angler Mr Rod Wilson.

Other notable eight fish bags include 26lbs 4ozs to Mr Steve Brown of Long Lawford, 26lbs 4ozs to Mr Eric Whale of Coventry, 24lbs 8ozs to Mr Simon Cook of Oxford and 24lbs 00ozs to Mr Alan Tyler of Bedworth.

Some good five fish limits too with 22lbs 00ozs to Mr John Clifford of Malmesbury, 17lbs 8ozs to Coventry bank angler Mr Ray Cramp, 15lbs 8ozs to Mr Bill Seward of Aberdare and 15lbs 4ozs to Mr Gordon Slack of Coventry again on the bank.
Mr David Wilcox of Carmarthen took a few nice fish on his annual boat trip to the fishery despite the hot, bright conditions. His best was a 5lbs 12ozs rainbow to a Hot Head Diawl Bach.

Best areas for boats have been the Cornfield and Draycote Dam.
Bank areas have moved on the wind, but Cornfield, Rainbow Corner, Tower Paddock and Flat Stones have all figured.
It has been a trickier time with the sunny and sometimes breezy conditions. The pulling tactics have probably done better overall for the boats with the fritzy, sparkly patterns fished deeper.
For the bank anglers Diawl Bach, Hares Ear and Buzzer remain the favourites.
