Rutland Water

Rutland Water’s Fur and Feather match, fished on Sunday 6 December, was a great success. The winner was Rob Edmunds of South Luffenham. Rob’s six fish weighed in at 14lb 11oz, a commanding lead over second placed Vakis Paisaskeva with 4 fish for 8lb 6oz and Clive Wilkins who took third. The best fish of the match was a 3lb 8oz Rainbow taken by John Vincent. Santa took time out of his busy schedule to pay a visit. Well stocked seasonal hampers were presented to the highest placed anglers and the day was rounded off with an excellent Christmas meal served at the Water’s Edge restaurant at Rutland Water fishing lodge.

Matt Bell, from Magdalene College, Cambridge, has only been fishing for six weeks, since attending an Anglian Water Beginners course. Matt had a brilliant trip to Rutland this week, taking Rainbows of 7lb 3oz and 4lb 3oz.

Bank fishing at Rutland Water, Grafham Water, Pitsford Water and Ravensthorpe continues until 31 December 2009

Bank fishing is promising with fishing continuing until the season ends on 31 December. Tickets to fish can be purchased from the vendor huts situated in the car parks.
