        Best areas
        Bank – gravel bar, lagoon
        Boat – west arm

        Best patterns
black or olive buzzer, grhe, black hopper, black shipmans, small damsel, white/green fritz, orange blob.

Elinor has had a great two weeks of buzzer fishing. Despite the cold winds the hatches have continued with plenty of fish rising throughout the day and evening.
The fish on the top are still difficult to tempt although small shipmans have caught some good bags. Boat anglers have done best by ignoring the surface feeders and fishing black epoxy buzzers 3 – 5ft down. On rougher days fish have also come to floater/intermediate with a damsel or white/green lure on the point with an orange blob on the dropper.
Pond olives are hatching in small numbers now. With a couple of buzzers it is worth fishing a size 12 or 14 hares ear on the top dropper.
Warmer weather should still see an appearance of hawthorne fly. Get some black hoppers ready. They can provide great dry fly sport for daytime anglers.
Most fish when spooned are absolutely full of buzzers of all sizes. They are certainly packing on the weight now.
