TF_waveydavey21Don’t buy a cheap one, it is a false ecomomy. Over here in Northern Ireland I have made that mistake, mixing large quantities of gb the cheap ones simply do not have the power or more importantly the sustainability.
I forked out and bought a Bosch like Mr. Ringer, it is superb.
Try Amazon for bargains. -

TF_wildingukI use a 24v cheapy from screwfix, only paid 20 for mine though its the same as the one in the link. It gets the job done fine, and will happily mix half a 17l sensas bucket full…that’s themost I have so far required.
If it was for ireland, or the wye, where you would be mixng tons of bait and lots of soil a bosch or higher end drill might be a worthwhile investment due to the serious amount of abuse it would get from heavy mixes. But for general mixing for average amounts of groundbait, you’ll be fine with the screwfix one….just make sure it’s 24V…and 18V isn’t powerful enough.

TF_dave brittainKeep an eye out in the sales for a WORX 24v drill from either Homebase or Argos. They retail at £99 but I picked one up a few years ago for £59 in the sale.
I did have a Black and Decker 18v but it only lasted a season and wasn’t up to the job. Go for 24V

TF_One Out of the FrameDo you need one?
What is the most that you would use in a match?
If your job is mixing up 20+ kilo for a team then probably yes!
If you take your two rods out of the ready rod holdall and assemble your pole before wandering to your mates peg for half an hour before the off then the answer is probably no.
I have drill, yes it does mix groundbait evenly and quickly but the weight, in my opinion, far outweighs the advantage in mixing it manually.

TF_dunnoOver here in Ireland 17l of groundbait can be the norm as Waveydavey said dont buy a cheap drill.
I have bought everything over the past few years and 2 years ago got a mint 24v de walt on ebay for £100 posted to Ireland. Its well worth the money if you are up to mixing large amounts.
If you fish commercials and use only 1kg of pellets or crumb forget about it.
