I do a lot of fishing for skimmers but mainly in the colder months.

I find expanders (6mm and 4mm) to be the number one hook bait more often than not. Feeding soaked 4mm pellet little and often can work well varying the amount depending on how you are catching. Groundbait made of ground expanders and coarse pellet can be a excellent attractor to kick start a swim

            That shoud get you started!

we used to have non carp matches on our local and skimmers were the target, there was always 2 lines of approach, 1 was to bomb a few balls of groundbait laced with pellet/corn/mag and caster to the deck and fish it out, and 1 was to feed little and often to bring em to the surface and get em up inth water…

both these methods would attract carp though and when these turned up i found just stopping feeding alltogether and maybe restarting somewhere else kept the skimmers coming…

was allways hard work though unless you just happen to get a peg where the carp wouldnt go for some reason…

Pellet, paste or worm and casters with ground bait or all work very well on commercial venues. A lot depends on the venue and how the fish are feeding. I,ve aways found that spray feeding with a catty is better than potting as skimmers and bigger bream need to be able to feed over a larger area of a swim. Keep the feeding tight and you might catch a few but they will quickly back off.

Sounds good to me Smed. I would want carp in a match normally but on some commercials. Skimmers and bream can be a major weight builder until the carp arrive.
