      On The Drop

I need to get myself something to transport my mountain of gear, have narrowed it down to the above 2. The Ultimate is slightly cheaper and also doubles up as a platform but the single wheel is a bit of a worry, the Preston one on the other hand looks perfect for the job of transporting my gear but I have concerns about build quality with some Preston stuff, are there any issues with these?

        Cheers

If you like the look of the Preston Space Shuttle take a look at the Ultimate low loader trolley

Type Combi barrow into Ebay and have a look at them, they look like the Ultimate ones but better. You can also type it into google aswell and it shows them in North west angling centre.

I have just bought the preston shuttle.
                  1st impressions are good.
It’s dead easy load all gear on (milo box fits over the end bar no straps required) .
The bag supplied that fits between handles is really useful for putting bait / pole etc in.
I have replaced the mudfeet with another set of wheels making it a 4 wheeler, which makes it very easy to push fully loaded, incl rod holdall.

All in all and am very impressed.

Hi mate, got a preston shuttle my self, very good but can be a bit unwieldy over uneven ground when loaded up.

Decided to go for the Preston Shuttle…… next question, how do I load Preston box on it? Does it just sit on the footplate at the front & held on with bungees?

                      • #109122

                        TF_Paddy

You extend the foot plate out and there are 2 upstand bits, the same as the normall on box trolleys. The box sits on these to keep it secure, then chuck net bags, rollers etc onto the extended footplate. Bag at the back, Rod bag on top, then I use 2 Fox bungee straps, one at the front and one at the back – job done!
Word of warning! do not wheel the trolley fully laden and drop it down a kerb. Me and a mate have got through 3 wheels doing exactly that, though Preston say they have sorted this on the newer models, the plastic seems exactly the same to me????
