TF_endpegEngland scored 19 points today to win the World Champs!

TF_NW Cut AnglerGiven how well Jamie Masson has consistently done for Scotland does he not dispel the myth that commercial anglers cannot fish / compete in the world championships?
I hope that the Angling Trust et al push for the England managers and anglers who have not received honours from the queen receive them in the next list. They all deserve it.

kee lerryI was out there from Wednesday.
The boys are totally awesome, the hard work and dedication required to pull off a performance like that is incredible.
The venue was fair, tactical and full of fish.
It was a pleasure to witness and be part of a magnificant achievement, I hope they all get the recognition that is deserved.

TF_NW Cut AnglerHow big were the Carp Lee? I may have misread the section weights etc but some seemed to bwe indicating a very high section placing with 1 Carp?
-
28/06/2010 at 12:07 pm #108938
kee lerryThe carp where between 1 and 2kg.
Just look at the 3 hr weights from the England boys to see how good the fishin was.
A typical match was 1-2kg of bleak, 1-4kg of cats and some late carp.
England had it mastered throughout. Proper team display. It sacrifices the chance of individual glory, but not a single angler would change the weekend result!

TF_NW Cut AnglerCheers Lee. Great effort. I think I preferred the old system IIRC when the individual was on a separate day.

TF_wightanglerLee – any chance of you doing an observed write up in your excellent column in M/F in coming months?
Hope lads on here will post or fwd the england success to your local news outlets and non-angling mates and work collegues.

kee lerrywightangler – That is exactly what I plan to do for my next column.
Basically looking at how the boys approached it, what you learn by going and how I apply it to my own fishing.
Hope it makes for good reading.
