MOLANDS The very hot weather has seen a lot of carp moving on the top and fish to 10lb+ have been caught on floaters such as dog biscuit or popped up bread. The skimmers have given the most consistent sport with bream to 3lb in catches to 50lb being taken on feeder fished chopped worm and caster or pellet feeder with tiny bits of polony or bread punch. Plenty of fish coming to the paste down the near margin and this has been the best tactic for tench to over 5lb. Best pegs are 2 – 4, 12 – 16, 31 – 35, 44 – 46 and 58 – 60.
GEARYS The carp action got better as the weather got hotter with match nets to over 70lb in club contests and pleasure anglers catching much bigger weights. Paste fished down the margin on method feeder have been the best approach for carp with fish to over 15lb caught this week. The silver fish catches have also been good with skimmers, tench, crucians and brown goldfish showing all around the pool to pole and pellet or paste. The biggest catches have been taken from the shallow water on pegs 19 – 25 but good sport can be had from any peg at the moment.
LITTLE GEARYS Little Gearys has been on form this week with match weights to over 80lb and pleasure anglers exceeding that. Lots of fish with F1’s to 4lb, carp to 4lb, tench, skimmers and crucians and even quality roach making up the nets. Most tactics producing good catches with the method fished tight to the island or paste float fished down the near margin the outstanding approach. Fishing well all around with pegs 1, 10, 17 – 21, 26 and 29 the top pegs.
GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers enjoying the best of the action on Gratuities with up to 40 tench being caught in sessio
