  I dont know what everyone else thinks about the guy but I think hes the best page in the Angling Times at the moment he tells it like it is and hes funny, good reading in my opinion.

  Totally disagree myself and he is one of the main reasons i stopped buying the paper after 30yrs of hardly missing an issue. A know it all (MODERATED) who stereotypes all groups of anglers and generally does not do his research well in my humble opinion !

  Some things he say are humorous but at times he seems to be lost for subject matter and just chucks some off hand comments in. Todays such effort was the piece about the Burbot. Didnt seem like a worthy item to me.

  Unfortunately he is typical in a long line of AT
  columnist who sensationalise and debase our sport in the name of journalism. He’ll be writing about motorbikes next week and has about as much credibility as Ron Thompson !!!

  Yes well I put it to you that if you wrote a weekly column about angling you might be stuck for good material now and again. What impresses me is Des Taylor – he’s done a weekly column in AT for over 20 years!!!

  When he is not plugging his additives and his fishery i think Des talks quite a bit of sense.
