Anyone know when & where the championships for next year is being held? Might persuade the missus into having her 40th there!

That’s not on, it’s been in Italy twice already in the last ten years. Poland are very keen to host it and Croatia had a venue custom built in 2005 to allow them to put another one on soon.

Suppose it will be an easy place to go for many from here though. You going with her Dave? Or will you be at Stafford Moor that weekend ~naughty

Venice is close by, Bologna and Ferrara at the closest big citys..

Bonus info, gone are the days of LOOOOOOng distance waggler for carassio, now it is bream on pole…

not sure where the feeder WC will be hosted, on the same week, infact everything is that week as it is world fishing games …

Is it being hosted in Italy again as its San Marino’s turn to host it and they don’t have any waters? I know thats been the case in the past.

nothing to do with that (as far as i know) and every thing to do with Italy hosting the “world fishing games”.

World fishing games is when one nation is hosting all WC in all disciplines in the same week, (ice fishing and so on excluded)

Surely ‘business’ can’t be behind the decision to hold it in Italy AGAIN?!!

I’m sorry but I have become very cynical about the whole thing.

I noticed that there was a big drop in the teams competing this year. It’s gone from 38 or 39 to 32.

It’s far too expensive to fish the event for the smaller teams (Italy won’t be cheap, especially if it’s bream requiring bloodworm and joker, which is always VERY expensive in hot countries at that time of year, plus accomodation and food are expensive).

Remember there is no prize money at all on offer, yet the match costs £1500 to £2000 to compete in per person for the unsponsored teams.

                      CIPS want to be careful.

Maybe thats what they want. They wouldnt want one of the big boys getting a bloody nose.~naughty ~naughty ~naughty

interesting fact about no. of teams competing Geeps,

Would this also have anything to do with splitting the sections the year before?

As a matter of interest – what changes to the results would there have been under the old system pre-2009?

The feeder wc will be held in italy in november or december. Just got the rules from FIPS.

It has been talk about splitting up the event in two divisions for manny years to make it easyer to find a venue to host the event.

The splitt sections came from france that didnt think it was fair with big sections that was very diffrent from one end to the other. This year they ranked the teams to make it more fair so that not all the big teams got on the same “under section”

i think they should run it as before with big sections, its the same for everyone anyway. Every team will get one or more bad draws no matter how you twist it.

Would be intresting to hear what other team got in budget. The swedish team get about 2200 euro, all from entry fees from the qualify matches, and the rest the anglers pay for. Just the entry fee is over 1000 euro for the team.

We get a few good result once and a while and thats what keep us going, hoping to do better next time. its the highlight of the year for us.
