England have come home from the world vets championships in Belgium with a team silver medal, but the event will be remembered for sad reasons, the passing of Jackie Dupuis.
He won’t be name that most UK anglers are familiar with but those who fished and attended the world championships will remember him fondly as a gentleman who was passionate about match fishing.
For years he was part of the heartbeat of the French match fishing federation and he was general secretary of FIPS for as long as I can recall.
He was also close to Mick Thill of Team USA, who some of you will know I fished with for America, and I have had to break the new to Mick, who stayed with him many times in France… Dick Clegg was also very close to Jackie. My condolences go out to Jackie’s family.
