Off down there in 3 weeks.
Might fish a match, do i need 2 nets ?.
Can you use nets for pleasure ?
Will probably only fish an hour or so a couple of evenings. Is there a lake anyone could recommend for some roach / skimmers please.
        Thanks.

You cannot use nets other than on offical matches.
You are asked to stake out your nets before any match to dry them out and only put them into the water just before the all in. If you do not adhere to this you risk disqualification.
Two nets are recommended but they do not have weight limits per net as far as I know.
Sycamore is very good for roach and skimmers but you will catch them all over if you fish for them as most anglers target carp. Jennys is another lake well worth a session or two.
Talk to the guys in the lodge and they will put you right on any areas you are confused about.

Jenny’s for silvers for mine – a few 4mm’s / micros and tough expanders should do it

Another vote for jenny’s for the silvers and skimmers its full of them in there
Little bit of grounbait and fish over the top of it with corn you will get bites all the time and also have the chance then of tench , bream , f1’s or even the odd carp

Get to Porth Reservoir for roach and skimmers and you can use nets! Only 2 or 3 miles away.

I was down at WA last week for the first time. I found Pollawyn really good for the roach and skimmers. Fishing at 5m about 18″ deep on 6mm hard pellet. I was getting roach to 1lb, bream to 3lb, and that’s not every now and then it was virtually one a chuck.

Jenny’s is also very good for the silvers but it towes too much for my liking, i prefer a calm lake.

It’s an amazing experience to go up there and I will definately be back soon I hope.
