I would just like to give a thank you to the owner of shortheath fishery. i was a parent that visited the venue today with 18 kids from merrill college Derby, most of these kids were fishing for the first time. on arrival at the fishery the owner gave every kid a 3m whip and goodie bag, containing a quality pole rig, plumets,hooks to nylon,disgorgers,spool of line,bait box and a box sticker. the kids spent the day bagging on roach, rudd, and crician carp all caught on there newly aquired whips.
if any club from derby, notts, leic or staffs are looking to book a venue next year i would recommend this fishery, loads of match size carp as well as a big head of lumps as well as silvers. there is also a tea room and toilet facilites all set in beautiful surroundings.
