Indeed another superstar from this part of the world who could not handle the fame and turned to drink.

However when on form he was a pleasure to watch.

What a waste of great talent.

              God bless.

Huge, huge talent, not a very nice person. I speak from experience (two exhibitions I was involved in) and anecdotally (from JV at races).

Speaking as someone who played snooker at a reasonable level: Reardon beat him, Thorburn beat him, Patsy Houlihan beat him and Steve Green (who? you ask?) beat him………

At his best he was very good but he wasn’t George Best and there were many, many character faults.

Great talent, and for whatever reason he brought Snooker to the attention of millions. He was also the main reason many of the great players of today came into the sport.
I did meet him on two occassions, and one thing is for sure…he kept you on your toes cause you never knew what he was going to do next…..Jimmy White in his early days was in awe of him,and look how he turned out….2 GREAT SNOOKER PLAYERS…..both are Legends already.
