Some more nice weights from laugherne Island Pool this week, with our Scotty Jones taking first place using paste fished short. James Wood followed his win a couple of weeks ago, taking second place today using method feeder and banded pellet tactics. Joint third for Derek Silk and peter Goudling.

A great effort from Gary ‘Tommo’ Thomas, using paste fihed close to take top spot on Laurel Pool. Second placed Eddie Foster took second using pole fished corn tactics and Jon Cook took third on paste fished on his top kit. Fourth placed Andy Taylor missed out on a ton bag by just 1 ounce!

Sunday 25 July 2010 Wyatts Pool 12 anglers

We rarely have a pool free for a Sunday open, but what a match!! Using soft pellet fished shallow, mostly on the inside, Bob Baker beat the Cob House VENUE RECORD by a clear 40lb and from a peg not previously favoured by regulars. Feeding softened feed pellets. Bob caught the bigger residents in Wyatts -carp around the 3 to 4 lb mark. Our own Scotty Jones came close to Chris Cameron’s previous record too, giving us the second double ton of the day to take second place with pellet and paste as hook bait close in. An impressive third place weight from regular Carl Jones, not too shy of the double ton, using pellet and maggot on top kits. Three more ton plus weights and another angler just two ounces short of the ton, followed by close back-up weights made for a hectic match on this prolific pool.
