I just wanted to let you know that we have decided to donate the outstanding monies from this year’s festival (over £1000) to the Jeff Moors Memorial Fund to be put towards trophies and to go to the Junior Angling Development Centre at Border Fisheries.
Jeff passed away last week after a long battle with illness and a Jeff Moors Memorial Match is being organised for Saturday September 18th at one of his favourite waters, Border Fisheries.
Jeff had always supported junior angling and to that end his request was that should a memorial match take place the money raised would go to help young anglers.
Jeff was a long-time member of Total-Fishing.com and he supported our events many times. His passing will hit the online match fishing community very hard.
We raised over £2000 at this year’s Glebe Festival, half of which went to the Angling Trust. In line with members’ wishes, were looking for an appropriate good cause for the other half of the monies raised. Members express a preference that it should go towards helping junior fishing.
After talking to Carpcruncher and Wheelie, we feel that this fits the bill perfectly.
We are hoping that the Memorial will be a popular annual match and that the trophies will be fished for year after year…
In line with Jeff’s wishes, pools for the match will be £25 with £15 of that going to the Junior Angling Development Centre at Border Fishery.
Bay Malton AC has waived any peg fees for the event so anglers will be fishing for a total prize fund of £1,300.
There are 130 pegs available and they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
A post-match get together will be held at the “Thistleberryâ€
