I fished it last week, Pellet shallow and maggot or meat in margins on Match and Arena was hard with worm or maggot in margins winning and a few carp on the wag or pole shallow and loads of silvers if you went for then and eels on the deck, I got 3 down the edge on worm!

I fished it 3 weeks ago (80 pegger) match and arena lakes. I drew arean peg 5, won the lake and came 2nd overall. It fished really hard, think there was an oxygen level issue. Anyway, the carp I caught (only 49lb) came to maggot fished in the margin. The chap who won had 60lb, and had 5 proper carp in the last half hour in the margins on the match lake.

Cheers Moorey, I’m on the same match. Hopefully the lake will be someway back to normal by next week. Did you feed heavy with the maggot.

To be honest Bigfella, I only took 1 pint of reds cus I didnt intend to use them really, thought it was an all out pellet water, but they just didn’t want it. I didnt suss it out untill 3 hours had gone by, but double or triple maggot fished tight under bushes brought a few bites when everyone else was struggling. If i were you I’d definatly take 3 pints and keep feeding them tight in whilst fishing the pellet shallow. You will soon see signs of fish moving over the maggots so depending on how the pellets doing you can make a move on the inside.
