TF_Glenn ArcherI am quite surprised no one has started a thread about this yet.
It’s on all the news channels, blimey!
Shame it’s not about something good happening.

TF_geepsterParticipantI’m sure it’s been on the carp forums – I did hear about it a couple of days ago now….
Just not sure how interested the users of Total-Fishing.com are in this kind of story?

TF_Glenn ArcherI am surprised it’s getting so much media courage, must be the silly season. I don’t really think this site is that bothered about it, but quite funny how people perceive anglers…
I heard on 5-live this woman interviewing Lee Jackson about what it meant to him and be-littling his achievement, she more or less said: so its just a waiting game then, chuck your rods out and hope for best. Suggesting anyone could catch it.
Further to that they had people txting and describing why they go fishing, and others moaning about anglers (canal boat men, etc).
Slow news day obviouisly! Two Tone reported as found dead on Saturday (14th) of natural causes.

TF_dirkdigglerit is the silly season on the news at the moment.

Yes it is silly season. The country is more bankrupt than at any time before, people are blowing themselves and tens of others up to get to heaven quicker and see the virgins lined up

Anyone could catch it given a relatively small amount of skill, loads of time and of course the money to indulge their fantasy
Further to that they had people txting and describing why they go fishing, and others moaning about anglers (canal boat men, etc).

TF_geepsterParticipantI see Terry Hall around Camden sometimes, generally looking suitably miserable. It looks like him anyway… only older.

TF_wightangleri await the specials come-back reunion tour- …and perhaps, a dug -up Doris Stokes interview with ‘Two-Tone’ on one of those paranormal sky channels.
Why not nominate photo’s of the fish to the BBC countryside file calendar and give someone with the right connections a kick-back to produce an arts focused ‘TWO-tone’ memorial statue with plinth, spot on the late show or BBC 2/C5 and perhaps even a pay-to view memorial service at Conningbrook? -

TF_D.W.Some of the comments just show the ignorance of today’s so-called “match anglers”….

TF_One Out of the FrameI thought that some of the comments were very funny especially Darlo-toe and Geepster!
It’s a fish! I’ve got some other fish in my freezer that will probably be eaten over the next week or so!
Whilst I’m all up for fish welfare you have to put it into some form of context and I’d rather be an angler who couldn’t catch a fish because it died, as inevitably we all will, than the parent, friend, sibling or spouse of one of our troops that have either died or been injured in Afghanistan.

Hardly amazing but more than a little ‘sad’ that people can go so overboard about a fish/dog/princess etc that they have never seen/stroked/met.
It is called mass hysteria and is normally met with at football matches all over the country on Saturdays and Sundays. Used to be called going to church a few years back.
I go fishing and have only once experienced mass hysteria. That was when we managed 3rd on a 3rd Division Witham National more than a few years ago when there were 5 divisions. That was 3 promotions in 3 years along with Trevs (otherwise we would have been 2nd). Trevs got their 4th promotion the next year and won the 1st Division the year after ~clap . It took us another 3 years to get promotion to the top flight on the R. Nene ahead of a certain Team Triangle ~think who failed in their bid that year!

TF_wightanglerI’d like to see an interactive documentary on ‘Two-Tone’ and think that this could well be a worthwhile commercial sponsorship opportunity for anglers to pay an entrance fee and pledge a percentage of their income to a corporate corporial sponsor to think about whether it would be viable to host a ghost written web update and if enough anglers show interest -give them an opportunity to purchase a part-plot time share in a ‘Two-Tone’ memorial garden somewhere- say £60 per angler with sponsorship taken into account?
Arrangements with a hire company could possibly be made to facillitate anglers ‘travellering’ to the garden?
