TF_DodgeIt seems the evidence is strong (alledgedly) against Pakistan with their antics at the home of cricket Lords. Pakistans performance in the last test against Australia at sydney which they managed to “lose” when in a winning position has come under strong scrutiny ….. the Pakistan wicket keeper “dropped” three easy catches and missed an “easy” run out in the second innings. How long can this continue ???. Surely the ICC must act and ban Pakistan from world cricket ?

TF_daverobertsI suppose we shouldn’t be surprised but it’s shocking and dissappointing all the same.
Two things that struck me is how an 18 year old with such obvious talent has got involved. This must have been happening before he came into the team. Thats not a defence for him either I hope he gets banned for a very long time. Ironically it seems that former captain affridi (The man who tried to eat the skin off the ball in another pakistani ball tampering incident) was the one trying to put a stop to it all and is getting pushed out of the set up.
In all the evidence the one that struck me was the picture in the NOTW showing Amirs foot miles over the line but in the backgound Salman Butt is watching his foot at the point of delivery……Guilty as yet uncharged I’m affraid.
The worlds obsession with gambling is the cause but thats never gonna get any better so make the punishment bad enough to deter furure generations because I believe this generation of pakistanis is fundamentally corrupt.

TF_herbiein 50 years ive never enjoyed there tours. theve had some real good players over the years but more than there fair share of weird results. once a country gets the cheat label they will never shake it off. time to isolate them from world cricket for 10 years.

TF_caster robParticipantA real shame for the game, all of this.
Pity the sodding bookies can’t be “isolated” instead.

TF_dirkdigglermoney is indeed the root of all evil.
however i’ve been watching england play cricket for around 30 years and have become so sick of seeing them thrashed out of hand by most opposition i’m really enjoying this successful period.
if the pakistan team is riddled with corruption i really could’nt care less at least our team is winning for a change ENJOY ~clap
bring on the sledging whinging aussies i say!!
lets hope they’re cheating too. -

TF_DodgeEven when Pakistan are found guilty of the charges i just wonder if the ICC have the backbone to ban them for a period of time from world cricket ? Also surely spread betting on asian participation cricket matches should be banned ?
Sad sad times.

TF_caster robParticipantIs it just deliberate no-balling or are there other accusations?
If, and that’s a big if, it’s only no-balls then at least the outcome of the match hasn’t been altered and the only losers would seem to be bookmakers.
Not exactly a tragedy.
When you consider that some of these players may have relatives that have lost absolutely everything in the floods then the chance for some quick money would have been hard to ignore.

TF_daverobertsIt was only No-Balling in this match but this MR Fix it has boasted that previous results have been fixed. The one that everyoe is questioning was the 2nd test in OZ last year when the Pakistanis allowed the ausies to gain a lead of 170ish with only 2 wickets left and then collapsed to defeat in their run chase.
I wonder if the 150K paid by the NOTW will now be donated to the flood appeal Rob?

TF_caster robParticipantI don’t know what money’s going where really.
I do know that Mohammad Amir is the best quick bowler I’ve seen in a very long time and the tragedy would be if he was exorcised from the game.
Seeing his talent has been a breath of fresh-air this summer, easily the best left-armer since the great Wasim, and he’s only eighteen.
In his case, I can’t imagine he could have perpetrated this without the collusion of senior players.
Either way, it’s the cause (bookmakers) not the symptoms that need rooting out.

TF_KatarinoI caught a very good piece on this issue on 5Live this evening. All kinds of issues raised, the fact that once a young player is sucked in there can be threats to family and god knows what else. These allegations are nothing new where Pakistan cricket is concerned and it’s really up to the Pakistan Cricket Authorities i.e. The Pakistan Government who appoint them, to sort it.
On a 5 live report for (I think) the 2nd test Geoffrey B. was querying in very strong terms the number of very simple catches being duffed by fielders…..

TF_NW Cut AnglerThe fixer claims that no balls are the simplest and easiest cheat they use which infers Rob that more complex cheats are also used. He also gave the NOTW the information for something arranged well in advance and for somebody else’s benefit.

TF_NW Cut AnglerWhenever a player steps well over the line for a no ball to be declared or a player drops a catch then suspicion is now going to be raised.

TF_caster robParticipantAt least our selectors have had the balls to drop Pietersen.
Perhaps he’ll be looking for a new country as well as county now?
