Daiwa Hallcroft Matchwinner Final (Saturday)
Moat Island (25 pegs)
1 G Ball, Feathers AC, 50-8-0; peg 2
Now in it’s fourth year, this Daiwa Sponsored Matchwinner Competition for club anglers proved as popular as ever with over 120 plus anglers battling to qualify for today’s final which was held on Moat Island.
The windy conditions, however, hampered the fishing on Moat, but this made for a tight match with most anglers in with a shout at winning the top prizes of a pole plus rods, reels and match luggage all which had been generously donated by Daiwa.
In a very close finish, Graham Ball from Feathers AC took first spot with just over 50lb of small carp taken from the margins with corn and pellet. Graham went away very happy with a Daiwa SR4 pole and a complete luggage set.
