I am about to invest in a new 2010 model Rive D36 ST or the D36 Sport ( like Steve Ringers ).

Does anyone own one and are there any problems with it i should know about?

        Thanks

not heard of any problems with the st mate,,
but ive been told of and acually seen a couple of sports with the frames cracked,, after all they are only plastic!
both really good boxes though,, if it was my money i think id be getting the st!

I spent a few weeks thinking it over, swapping between the different frames etc, and I finally decided on the ST frame as it’s by far the strongest frame if my past D25 frames are anything to go by.

The other reason is the fact I clean my gear frequently, and the plastic framed Rive’s I’ve had in the past don’t take too well to constant washing down etc. Water ingress between the plastic and the outer vinyl was the problem.

I know of a couple of D36’s where the footplate clasps have broke but I think this was down to angler abuse.

              Hope this helps,
              James

Hi Galps, i have the RX sport as im sure you know. To be honest the only problem i have had with it is the footplate clasps whereby i have left them open and tried to store the footplate which has resulted in me breaking them! Strength wise i’m not exactly light and ive had no problems with the frame at all, so i wouldnt worry as regards strength.

Ive had the st336 hsp for 18 months now and never had a problem with it.

Im 6ft 5 and 17stone plus and never had a leg slide or come loose like I had on the d25. Best box Ive ever had and im looking forward to sticking with it for many years to come.
