All I do is attach the bomb to a snap link swivel and thread this on the line followed by a Korum quick change bead and a hair rigged hooklength of your choice. If I’m fishing double hookbaits I swap the korum quick change bead for a rubber bead followed by a swivel and attach the hooklenth to that. Stops the hookbait spinning. Simple.

If you keep it simple it should be ok, I use a snap link swivel (on a loop of line – running – instead of in the loop) to a drennan swivel bead – the clear bead with a swivel, alternativly guru do a kit, which is just as good, although if fishing the bomb With pva or a pellet cone you may want to use a snap link swivel instead. I’ve tried the beads. But I always seem to struggle to open them.

The same set up as Baitchef for me. The main thing to remember with the running bomb in winter is to cast out and leave it for at least 10 minutes between casts. 15 minutes is usually a better amount of time between casts unless your casting around and looking for line bites to indicate where the fish are siting in your swim. I,ve had to leave my rig in for 20 minutes to get bites on a few venues. Unless your on a shed full of feeding fish. Most of your bites seem to be after 10-15 minutes on many venues!

this way seems to be much differant thn the paternoster rig…..with the paternoster being a more direct link to reel line and the feeser or bomb not being picked up by the fish…i say this as i thought this was the best rig for fishing any feeder or bomb ….. i know its fixed aswell .isnt there any other ways really of incporating the 2 methods,or is it really the only way the running bomb can be tied

You can make a paternoster rig that is free running if you wish. Simply add a micro swivel to the paternoster and add a ledger stop to the main line. However, for commercial carp venues there is very little point. Even though the bomb is free running. The bites are the same. The rod generally gets pulled right around when you get a bite. This is because of the bolt rig effect from the rod. The fish are normally hooked when we get a bite so no need to strike, either! Things are slightly different if your targeting silvers and in particular skimmers and roach. In that case. A paternoster rig is better in my opinion.
