REPORT

MOLANDS F1’s and skimmers showing all around the pool and catches to 40lb can be made from most pegs. Paste fished down the near margin or pellet at 8 – 10 metres are the best tactics for these. Carp are showing better on the early pegs 1 – 4 and from peg 23 round to peg 46, pellet or method feeder fished tight up to the far bank with beaded pellet or polony is the best bait for fish up to 10lb.

GEARYS The very settled weather has seen Gearys in pretty good form over the past week with carp and skimmers dominating the catches. Along the high bank from pegs
7 – 13 the pole at 10 – 13 metres has been working well for skimmers mainly but a few carp are moving later in sessions, pellet is the best bait fished over ground bait. From peg 17 all the way round to peg 31, carp have been showing with pellet feeder, straight lead or pellet waggler all accounting for some decent nets.

LITTLE GEARYS This pool is still in excellent form, highlighted by the new pool record caught by Lee Richards of Birmingham who caught 162lb 15oz in Wednesday’s Open from peg 26. Lee caught all of his fish, which were carp to 12lb and lots of F1’s from ½lb – 3lb on shallow pole
