        My Individual National.
Made the calls in the week and got my head around the Staff-Worcester Canal which I’ve not fished before.
Got back last night from London (misses picked up by bait from Ken Wade’s), stayed up late tying rigs and preparing tackle and bait etc. Got up at 6am, loaded car. Car wouldn’t start.
        The end.

winner had 11 kilo something beat second by a massive 10 grams.

I was below Shutt Hlll lock and there was an iron man type thing going on with loads of kayaks up and down all throughout the match. One poor bloke had a checkpoint in his peg in a tree opposite him, where they were all stopping which was unbelievably harsh. He just packed his tackle back up and never fished. Saints lad on the end had one capsize in his swim with about an hour left.

It was ridiculous, unfishable for a fair amount of time. AT are refunding entry fees for us who fished there (last 27 pegs)

By all accounts it fished very well.

Amazing that when booking the venue someone failed to mention there was an iron man comp on

                  thats disgusting really,

I would be spitting nails if I had organised this event

Geeps you will probably find your peg was the finish line 🙂

I guess it’s been booked for a long time now. I don’t know the situation entirely but from what I gather 160 pegs had originally been booked and 127 fished, and they knew this was happening the night before. Why they couldn’t re-peg the last 27 i’ve no idea, but it’s not like there’d be a lack of them, Staffs and Worcester is a pretty big canal!

I threw a couple of pound back, there was a 9 kilo weight of chub and bream 2 pegs to my right on the same peg that Lee Kerry won his section on in last year’s div 1. Think he was 3rd.

Didn’t enjoy the day at all, just glad it wasn’t a proper National!

Guess what folks…. after writing the post I got a mechanic around and he’d fixed it by 8.40. Rang Mick Turner, draw was still going on so I thought sod it and got Tony Keeling to draw for me. Tony had a post code (near the X Keys) and arrived with 20 mins to the all in. Had to apologise my way past about seven anglers, set up two rigs, and had a bite a chuck for four hours (some bloody huge gudgeon in that venue had three that must have been nearly 3oz). Had around 100 fish and then last half hour fished caster for chub, and had one, but a small one about 8oz. Had four and half pound, great day’s fishing TBH, but didn’t weigh in as someone in section had five chub. Glad I went. Had been advised that if you feed chopped worm you won’t catch chub, but the guy who won the section fed worm and fished worm, and caught chub.
