        REPORT

MOLANDS The very changeable weather conditions saw catches go up and down from day to day. The pool fished better when there was a blow on which encouraged the skimmers to feed along with F1’s and a few carp and tench. The most consistent area has been from peg 14 round the back bank to peg 35 where pole fished caster or pellet accounted for mixed pleasure nets to over 40lb. Notable feeder pegs are 10 – 14, 29 – 31, 46 and 54 – 60 where a small method feeder or pellet feeder with polony, pellet or dead red maggot are working best.

GEARYS The high bank from pegs 6 – 15, the far end on 17 – 20 and pegs 30 – 32 are the top areas. The shallow end on 21 – 27 has been very hard over the past week and the cooler nights are having an affect and less fish are being caught close in. Pole at 10 – 13 metres or method feeder fished long up to the island have been the best tactics, 8mm hard pellet, polony, expander pellet and caster have been the top baits. Coleshill rod, Fred Evans, fished peg 18 and caught 14 carp to 10lb and a dozen big skimmers on method feeder and 8mm pellet.

LITTLE GEARYS Very much the most consistent pool on the fishery at the moment. Matches are very fair with good weights taken all around the pool and you can predict where the winner will come from. Shallow pole and pellet or method fished to the island are the best tactics with carp to 6lb, F1’s to 5lb,
