MOLANDS The autumn weather has seen Molands a little up and down this week, fishing really well one day and poor the next. F1’s, skimmers and crucians are feeding best with the carp and tench very unpredictable. The best approach has been to fish the pellet or caster down the near margin or up to 12 metres on the pole. Method feeder is the best approach for carp with fish to 12lb showing, but it can be a bit of a waiting game on some areas. Top pegs are 2 – 12, 21, 29 – 31, 43 – 46 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS With a north westerly blow on for most of the week, the fish pushed down into the deeper water or the high bank and bottom bay. Carp bags to nearly 100lb and skimmer weights to over 60lb have been taken this week. Method feeder or straight lead and pellet have been working best for carp with a few doubles coming out along with lots of fish in the 4 – 7lb bracket. Pole with expander pellet or paste is working best for the skimmers. Top pegs are 7 – 19, 30 – 32 and 36 – 40.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished a little harder at the weekend after a couple of cool nights but was in good form through the week. Lee Richards is the man on form using shallow pole and pellet to take another 100lb bag of F1’s and small carp. Lots of tactics are working well with pole shallow, pole and paste and method feeder all producing plenty of fish. Generally fishing well all around the pool but 7 – 13, 21 and 25 – 30 are the top pegs.
GRATUITIES A little patchy this week with the carp mostly willing to feed and only the odd tench to 5lb is showing. Pole fishing at 8 – 10 metres with small expanders over micro pellets or fishing do
