TF_scrubbaI have not fished it very often this year, but here are some ideas. I prefer to fish expander pellet, corn and a bit of paste. Although a lot of fish are caught on caster fished shallow about 3/4’s of the way across. There are stacks of Ide to be caught as well as F1’s. You can also catch F1’s by fishing hard pellet shallow as well.
When I do go I stick to what I know, which is why I fish pellet and corn. If I tried caster fishing it would take me a while to catch up with the regulars. I tend to fish right across to whatever feature you have, down the track before it shallows up again, margins if you have a feature and anywhere from 4-5 sections of pole in front of you.
The matches will still be 6 hours at the moment and usually you catch best in the first and last hour. I always start right across to mug any early F1’s and see how each line goes as the match progresses, but leaving the close in lines for as long as possible. If you are not catching or a swim dies just try starting a new swim. I do believe that the fish are somewhere in your peg it’s sometimes a case of finding them. There is usually a spare peg next to you so you do have some round to experiment.
I usually feed some dampened pellets a few pieces of corn topped with a bit of groundbait from a small kinder pot and see how it goes. The other lines can be fed with a bit more, but I do not pile the bait in. On some days you have to feed every cast on others it’s best to gauge the response on how how quick you are getting bites. You may also get pestered by small fish on expanders which is why I feed some corn and use it as a change bait or to catch a bigger fish.
Good luck anyway. I may go myself at the weekend.
Tight lines.

TF_Johnny MacTake 3 pint of maggot, start off fishing for Ide shallow at 5mts, you can do 30lb of Ide and sometimes the F1’s will come to this.
No point feeding your carp lines until you’re ready to go on them. Either right across or margin. -

bifferdParticipantDrew peg 25 which meant nothing to me. Caught about 10lb of silvers in the couple hours, but was being plagued by skimmers! Thought i could feed them off but to no avail, silly little bites doing my head in! went accross with pellett – same silly bites! to cut a long story short tipped about 20lb back. Talked to couple of the regulars afterwards and it seemed i fed too much too often – not sure what won it, but heard early pegs had 60ish, paul jones drew 43 again so might have won it??
Any way, beats working! cheers
