I only fish one match a year now and tried micros (plain Dynamites) on the method for the first time last weekend. Although i felt i had them dampened down to the right consistency (they did get overwetted in the rain late on and wouldn’t then bind properly)I could see that there was a degree of leakage off the feeder on the way down through the water column, fishing in about 6′ of water quite close in. Is this leakage part and parcel of this way of fishing the method or should the feeder be going down 100% intact (if i was chucking a longer distance i would probably have thought that was actually happening) ?
I did catch enough to win the match, albeit maybe in spite of rather than because of what I did ? Other than using some groundbait in the mix, can micros be wetted in such a way that they will stay intact, or is that unrealistic in 6′ of water ?
        Cheers, Dave

Steve Ringer wrote about this in Angling Times last year. He was doing a dvd and when filming underwater they could see that very little of the groundbait or pellets were still around the feeder when it hit the bottom in deep water. He now really squeezes the mix on hard to keep it intact. It makes you wonder just how much bait is actually still on the feeder when it hits the bottom in deeper water.

There shouldn’t be a problem is shallow water as the pellets/groundbait will not come off.

yeah pack it as tight as u can!
if u use a mould after you have moulded it put a little more into the mould and remould it to get some more on
then also squeeze it again in your palm to pack it more!
the harder you pack it the better!
