Report:
Although the heavy rain and strong winds probably kept attendance low, Dynamite Makins Lake Two continued to throw up weights all round the lake for the Wednesday Kobra Open.
On peg B17, after a fruitless hour on the method feeder, Phil Jarram (Dynamite Baits) switched to pellet on straight bomb ‘down the track’. His first fish came immediately and he continued to catch at a steady rate for the remainder of the match to finish with a 20 carp catch weighing 119 lb for a clear win.
Baz Smithson (Gedling Tackle) on peg A20 also found bites hard to come by on the feeder, but by switching to corn fished towards peg A19 (in the margin) he landed caught steadily over the final 2 hours and included some big carp in his 99 lb 8 oz catch for runner up spot.
For the remained of the year draw times for the Kobra Opens will be 9.30am sharp.
NB. ‘Kobra’ Open Matches are run at Dynamite Makins every Wednesday on Phase 1. Telephone 07749 284 823, or be in the Car Park by 9.15 a.m. (£15 all in at the draw).

Report:
Although carp were showing on the surface for most of the Thursday KOBRA Open on Dynamite Makins Reptiles (Phase 2), they proved very difficult to catch and weights were much lower than expected.
Eddie Keene (Coventry) on peg 4 caught late on worm fished to his left margin to sneak the win from Frank Didio (Burton-on-Trent), who caught from the start on method feeder and then pole from favoured peg 13. Several lost fish cost Frank dearly.
Ian Morris (Rugby) caught steadily on pole and pellet from peg 10 for third place.
Next week’s Thursday Kobra Open (7 October) will be on the Derwent on Phase 3 (9.30 am draw).
