Report:
Once again the B bank dominated the Wednesday KOBRA Open on Lake Two at Dynamite Makins, producing the top two weights.

Geoff Ringer (Ringers Baits) on peg B11 for the second successive Wednesday, made superb use of his knowledge of the peg. Geoff started fishing at 11m on pellet to catch some stockies and bream before switching to the margins with corn to land several big carp to total 118 lb 6 oz for a clear win.

Baz Smithson on B17 started on bomb and pellet to take four carp in the first half of the match before he also switched to corn in the margins where he also caught some big carp (best fish weighed at 15 lb 12 oz) to total 102 lb for second place.

Long Eaton angler John Adamson (Kobra Feeders) took top weight on the A bank for third place from peg A4 with a carp catch of 94 lb 4 oz by alternating between method feeder and bomb with pellet.

Report:
The Thursday KOBRA Open on the Derwent at Dynamite Makins proved a very dour match for most competitors, only four bothering to weigh in.

Top weight fell to Long Eaton Victoria’s Dave Kent with a carp catch of 33 lb from peg 30. Half Dave’s fish fell to meat fished towards the island, the remainder from the margins on double corn.

Burton on Trent’s Frank Didio (peg 2) took all of his 30 lb carp catch on corn by alternating between the track and his left margin, Andy Findlay (Preston Innovations / Korum / Sonubaits) catching his 26 lb from peg 26 on pellet fished towards the island. John Adamson’s 5 carp catch of 21 lb 8 oz for fourth place on meat and pellet from peg 6 was the only other weight recorded, although several anglers caught a single carp and admitted to losing fish.
