TF_Kevin LeachI have to say well done to the crew at Angling Times. The magazine is top drawer with some interesting reads and is very up to date. The paper itself has improved too and i have started buying it again. Keep up the good work and i understand its not easy to keep coming up with new ideas, but at least you keep trying and its working.

TF_geepsterParticipantI enjoyed the interview with Kevin Ashurst, but thought the interview with Steve Gardener was a missed opportunity… it seemed there wasn’t the space to go into the detail deserved…

TF_NW Cut AnglerExcellent Mag. Throw the Paul Coyle and Steve Ringer articles from the AT into it and you had all I wanted to read.
Should sell it as a stand alone
Big Kev – I daresay you could have had a whole issue on him. Hoever, even in that interview he produces two massively interesting issues; The future of Ireland and Team Fishing Scoring Systems.

TF_macca63After reading this thread I bought the AT today for the first time in 15 years and was really impressed with the content, a vast improvement will definately be buying it on a weekly basis from now on.

TF_geepsterParticipantNW Cut I thought the issue he raised about team fishing was really interesting and so true.
When Kevin team fished it was on weight not points and six out of every team always got paid out.
He points to the introduction of a points system, under pressure from the big teams, as the death of team fishing.
Average anglers could not compete, did not get a pay out, the fun went out of it, and they stopped coming.
It’s a lesson that organisers should do the right thing for the sport and not listen to those who shout the loudest… -

TF_wightanglerGeeps-can’t agree on weight over points as lessens overall skill though may bump up some attendances in short term.
However, AT Match supplement a wonderful read and a stand alone product worth paying out for(brilliant Lee Edwards).
Must be keeping those DHP lads on their toes which is a good thing for match angling- though current issue of M/F mag. really good this month with Euro Champs reports and articles -particuarly on tactics- like the big wag with a long hook length and length of no. 8 laccy between micro-swivels to help cushion wag taclkle breakages on light tackle with barbel on the large river.
Very good Kevin Leach S/bomb article.
Also, the Sam Wildsmith bloodworm does inform on his thinking behind feeding rather than the usual bog standard seasonal B&J article. Got to be good in next few months given the current 2 popular drennan cup finalists and associated winners articles.Best wishes to excellent erstwhile M/F dep.ed. and DHP stalwart Mark Williams in new Dynamite Baits career.

TF_Croydon_DaveWas not happy that the Tylers Common match which had a real story (Graham Dack landing two perch for 8 lb) was cut to a brief.
Hope they give it some coverage in next weeks news pages. Also I thought the SG interview was thin
