TF_Kevin WHi all,
Can anyone help please? Next week I’m taking Mick Bull up to Bradshaw Hall Fishery near Bolton for a feature for Total Coarse Fishing magazine. Neither of us have been there before.
I’d appreciate a few suggestions as to which lake to fish and what methods and baits to use. We just need a decent bag of fish. Please help me if you can – I’d hate to make a wasted journey! Of course I’ll be contacting the fishery itself but I know some of you are regulars there so I’d really value any advice you can offer.
Thanks in advance

TF_Jonny_b1989Lake four is the better lake of the whole complex.
Pellet waggler in to the tree stick ups is one of the best methods in summer. Or fishing long pole with strong elastic. Also chucking the feeder or bomb to the stick ups is a good method.
Now its colder silvers are a good target there as well and caster approach is a good way to go with groundbait. Silver weights are around 20lb including lots of roach and skimmers.

bifferdParticipantI have a feeling the silverfish series has started on a saturday and was won by Gary Whalley with 20lb of roach on caster = lake 4! roach average 4-6oz with the odd 8oz-12oz thrown in!

andy85Participantget urself on lake 4 lots of silvers to be caught. i managed to win the match today wit 49lb of roach 2-4ft deep on caster shallow today on the silverfish match ppl fishing on the bottom was landing a few carp too on roach gear.if u feed any amount of bait the carp will turn up if u wanna catch them too depends what ur feature is about if its just a net of fish then fish on the drop for roach an if u want a few carp after catchin some roach then put some pellets in on the deck an u should get a few late on too

TF_Johnny MacWhat time’s the draw on Sat? Do you need to book on? I fished a couple of the silver matches last year, made a change from the usual.

bifferdParticipantHalf 9 draw – 20 quid, 2 pound goes to a final pot, you have to fish 10 and win a match i think to get to final? i’d book on pal, after reading this a few more might be there!
I have just booked on!
Tonkin – You coming? -
