Hi all just intrested on peoples views on an out and out silver fish pole to be used just for skimmers/roach/odd tench with blue hydro type elastics, would you still be looking towards Airity/g max1000 type top end poles or are there better poles than that suited to this type of fishing!!

immediate reaction the spectron m2, could also take a look at the senas xl86 and 784/794, or if you can find one sean ashby still uses his 3794, not that they were cheap.

The 774, gmax1000, and most of the other top poles are more all round/commercial orientated. The gmaxx is also top heavy IMO.

But it’s horses for courses, try them all see what you like. If you choose a sensas, I suggest swapping some of the match or big fish kits for silver stickered comp kits, they’re lots lighter and stiffer and imrpove the balance no end. They only take up to a 6-8 elastic though.

the Drennan Zircon is as light as a feather & a dream to handle, but like the other poles mentioned I wouldn’t class any as out & out silvers pole, they’re all much more versatile than that these days

Another Spectron recommendation here. It’s only now that we’re into Winter League season that I can properly appreciate how much better mine is than the Maver I used previously.

Another vote for the Speccie….. If you can find one 2nd hand an Exceler is an excellent alternative with a bit more backbone for those bonus fish….
