I was wondering if anyone had one of these poles ?? I have had a waggle of one but wondered if anyone was actually using one and what they thought of it ???
I have been offered a brand new one at a ridiculously low price and wondered if it was time to retire the Browning Z9 ???

I had a waggle of one at Ted Carters last Saturday, whilst it feels like a nice pole the sections are exceptionally long, you could struggle to get it in your car.

Getting it in the car isn’t a problem mate, i have a long wheelbase 4×4 and a decent sized hatchback.

I know i can’t help it. I was looking at the Trilogy when i was offered the Sensas poles. I’ve had a play with one at 13m and it was really light and stiff, i’m hoping to get a better go of one next week. The price is really good and i’m trying to decide to buy one and keep the Z9 as back up or sell the Z9 to buy extra kits etc. I can also get an 86xl for not much more but it seems to be more of a competition pole than an allrounder.

I’ve not used one fishing, but had one up at full length and it’s a beast with both extentions on. It’s fine at 15 and a bit with one on, but stick the other extention on and you’ll know you’re holding 17m of pole!! Also, as the ‘match’ kit that came with my 774 is more like one of their comp kits, make sure you try it with a power kit to get a true idea of balance.

I had a choice between a 76xl, and a 774, and went for the 774 in the end as it was a more manageable choice. I wasn’t so stoked at the larger butt sections on the 76xl, and the longer sections would have made it a pain.

Not had a z9 up myself, but I would pull the elastic out of a top kit and have them up side by side to decide. Only plus point with sensas, the top kits are very good value IMO. If you mainly fish commercials, stick with the match kits it comes with and take out the number one, I know plenty who use them with double 8 for carp. If not, try and get some swapped to the competition kits (silver writing on black label), they don’t weight any different, and only take up to a number 8 elastic, but they are stiffer than the match kits and I really notice the difference in response times when trying to hit bites from small fish.

Just been and tried a 76xl, a mate of a mate brought his over to let me have a go. I used it for about 40 minutes and caught a few f1’s upto 1.5lb with it. What can I say about it ??? Well i won’t be replacing the Z9 with one, to say it would be a massive step backwards is an understatement, the Z9 is going nowhere. I now see why i can get one so cheaply, i don’t think they will have been a big seller.

I thought they were nothing special when I tried one mate, same as the tricast trilogy. I still rate my Elite 77 and have had no problems with it. The Elite 88 when it comes out early next year could well be worth saving your pennies up for craig mate.
