TF_dirkdiggleri’ve been very happy with kamasan b911s for quite
some time now.
however now the winter is upon us i thought i’d have a
go with some drennan silverfish maggot hooks due to the slightly finer gauge wire.
i think my search will continue though as in a match on thursday i had three hooks go blunt and one straighten slightly and also lost around 4-5 fish too.
so should i stick with my trusted 911s or has anyone got a better idea? -

TF_dirkdiggleraye i was thinking about the 808s are they up to proper speed fishing then?
it’s for fishing covey at partridge so your still catching a lot of fish even at this time of year. -

muffytry the tubertini 801 if u are not going to hook any lumps they look very fine but if careful you can land carp

strange is’nt it that?
it does seem that a lot of the manufactorors suffer from good and bad batches.
i was using doubled 5 flouro slip so i was really suprised when i straightened the hook.the middy hooks do look good i’ll see if ian at stalybridge stocks them on monday.

try the silverfish match ones they are a lot better -

TF_JonniTimmsPersonally i wouldnt use a middy hook again after having several bad experiences with their pellet hooks and hair rig hooks straightening on reasonably small fish.~think
Tubertini 808 ~clap
I have also looked recently at the Alan Scothorne Mustad Penetration Carp hook, they seem pretty fine but i havent got round to using them yet if anyone has???

Eh up Johnny,Thanks, see you Sunday if your going!
I still use 911`s in winter in 20`s and 22`s,especially for carp fishing maggot and the skin off a piece of corn.
Pete.
Bad news, just text back and its full,so looks like bannister instead!

TF_Mike_GlobeI’ve been using the silver fish maggot since they came out and find them brilliant for winter f1’s but strong enough to land carp too.
Can’t remember one going blunt or bending, maybe you got a bad batch?
Only other hooks i use on the pole for winter commercials are silver fish pellet if the carp are bigger or gamma blacks when it’s hard or you’re looking for more silvers.
