TF_Stevie HI have been pondering over which meat cutter/s to buy. I am looking for a 6mm & 8mm.
The concept of the MAP cutter caught my eye with the interchangeable blades, but I have heard mixed reviews about it.
I notice that there are some Tilley type imitations on Fleabay. Has anyone bought these? Are they any good? The only difference that I could imagine would be that the wire would be soft and flimsey.
I think my options are and would appreciate comments on the following:
1. Tilley (although they don’t do 8mm)
2. J Range
3. Maver
4. Sonu
5. Waterline
6. Cheap Fleabay rip offSteve

TF_stevie bMCM. I bought a set after watching Mick Wilkinson cube a tray of meat in minutes!
They come with spare wires too. I’ve had mine a few years now and not had to replace the wires yet.Available in loads of sizes. Not the cheapest though! A quality piece of kit. Sold at Whiteacres, Davies angling and possibly direct from the manufacturer still.

TF_Stevie HThanks for the replies guys…..
No negatives for the MAP from anyone…the reviews I saw were from a while ago so if there was a problem in their early days then perhaps now its resolved.
Seems like the MAP it is then.
Ta again.

TF_thedogi have the map one, its a good bit of kit but if you dont have a dishwasher its a pain to clean especially when cutting the 4mm cubes. ultimate advertise a set of three different size metal cutters for £25 BARGAIN!

TF_ubatFound the 4mm a pain on the MAP, but very good on the larger sizes, 6mm & 8mm

TF_Stevie HIs it the Avanti ones that you are on about?
I did see a post on MD’ers that someone had been using them for a couple of years with no wire breakages or any problems at all.
Seems like a bargain to me….£25 for 4, 6 & 8mm cutters.
