        Question:
        do any of us still use the ‘hook in the loop’ method as perfected by Giles Cochrane?
        I never had much success with it only when catching small roach and rudd.
        Do recall Giles saying on one thread that he had modified his original approach but I never saw any more details of these modifications.
        Does anyone know if these were ever disclosed on the forum?

          I still use it occasionally on the deck for small carp, skimmers and crucians. When bites go iffy, it can make a difference for a short while before the fish wise up, by which time, it’s OK to go back to the normal rig.

            What exacty is the benefit of this? To me it just looks untidy?
