I know it sounds tight of me and the subject has probably been touched on before but…..

Can groundbait be frozen, thawed out and used another day without detriment to the bait???

I am fishing the White Acres winter league where it is an open draw in the morning, without any prior indication of which lakes are in bait and gear has to be made up to cater for EVERY eventuality. This being done there seems to be alot of waste, yesterday i took a skimmer mix and method mix to the bank and most of it came back home with me!!!

Can i chuck it in the freezer to use next week without any damage to it????

        Your thoughts please.

Yes you can freeze ground bait no problem and use it again at a later date but the more you freeze it the more it deteriorates.I would probably only freeze it twice max then get rid.

If you freeze a grounbait you deaden it activity wise which can be a bonus when targetting skimmers and hamper you for roach

Don’t forget to mark the bag with the contents, when you have several diffrent mixes frozen it’s hard to remember what it is!

For the White Acres matches I mix it on the bank. It’s nice to be prepared when you get to your swim but difficult when you don’t know what you are preparing for! Its not tight it just makes pence!
