Hi, Is there any difference in the G20 13m continental pole with spare top 5’s, or is it the same pole as the normal 16m package with carp/match top 3’s?

Reason I’m asking is that it says in the description that it was developed for the continent with spare top 5’s (which I need) but in another description it says that it’s just a replacement for the G8 which in my opinion was a commercial/carp pole.

So what is it? A proper match/silverfish pole or a stronger not as responsive carp pole?

          Hi David,
Its the same pole. Jacko has one so have a look at his. Its very very similar to the Airity at 13m. I think they are perfect for Ireland.

Hi Cathal, I just emailed Jacko last night about it. I just thought it sounded like a proper continental pole until I read ‘G8 replacement’. Might hold off until the Sensas XL84 but I’ll see what jacko thinks first.

Have a look at a tricast trilogy. You can chop and change what topkits you get and if you only want 14m you could leave the extensions out of the pack
Give tricast a ring and ask for Steve Hopkins to see what that can do and who to get one from

Hold on as alot of anglers are selling kit at the moment. Heard of a 644 with a load of spares ( 11 top kits and spare 4s and 5s) went for about €600 euro.

You will definately get a 774 for about £1000.

I know of a Tackle Shop near me who stock Daiwa poles and can get anything you want at competitive prices.

I know of a lad who got a G20 with alot of spares for alot less than you tghink. ( You know this lad also as you fished with him last year.)

Spend your wedding money of a good pole.

I made my wife give me a grand for a pole when we got married. She doesnt know that Ive since sold it and changed my pole 4 times in the last 5 years.

On some of the continental packages the 13m section is stronger making the pole better for baggin use. It may make the pole bobbins for 16m work but perfect for Ireland.
