TF_CutnutA scattering here at Dog Lane Napton. Compared to oop north it’s nowt. The temps went down to -6degC, will be checking the pools for ice later. Hopefully, someone decided to put his aerator on this time…
Most likely will not be fishing Sunday at Bishops Bowl, if it’s cold here it’s likely to be rock there.

TF_andynorth2003ParticipantHad a walk round Cudmore and everywhere is solid, apart from Arena, which is pretty clear as they have had the aerator on.
There was a carp angler and his Mrs, stayed overnight. Must have rocks in there heads, cos they could fish about 7 metres from the bank only. lolJust had a call to say that Makins Teams of 12 is off as well.
Not sure if they will still do an open on phase 2&3, breaking ice? if anyone knows let me know?Oh well, better get the hooklength box out the garage and make some more up !! lol

TF_Waveney OneBroke the thin ice on the Traditional Lake at Suffolk Water Park for a silvers match. Started at 10 am and at 10.05 it was snowing again and by 10.10 I couldn’t see my float – not the blizzard, it had buried! -4.3C was the minimum
To be truthful it was hard to see the float at times for the first hour but I ended the match with 7lb 12oz of small caster roach on a 4*10 Graham Blake float. I had one or two up in the water but mostly on the deck in about 5 foot. I had bites all day but most were very finicky and I missed as many as I hooked. I only used the disgorger once today and could have gone back in with the same caster if I had wanted to. All the fish seemed to be just mouthing the bait.
11lb 8oz won it, 2 big skimmers for 3lb and some smaller ones. 9lb 9oz was second on the waggler and spraying maggots. That comprised 2 perch for a couple of pound and the rest roach. 8lb 6oz third and me 4th.

TF_leemurphBeen on cudmore today for the w/league fished brewsters had 4 f1’s and a few bits for 8lb. Worst part was driving onto the place trechorous!!! But yeh it has ruined it cos h/brook is off 2moz and it’s given -8 2nite down there, and i don’t think next week will be on either cos this weather is here for a bit.~sick

Dog Lane was snow covered over the top of the ice this afternoon Pete.
I expect Bishops will be the same so I am going to give it a miss.Simon F and a few hardy souls reckon they are going to break ice tomorrow, and allegedly there are some nutters from Daventry going to Bishops as well.
Flat battery on Volvo this morning has left me with an engine warning light that won’t go out, reckon either a sensor has gone or the air intake valve is stuck. Will have the fault checker on it tomorrow and see if I can narrow it down, so fishing even on a river is out. 🙁

TF_Waveney OneI will go and have breakfast at the Suffolk Water Park this morning speak with the lads and see if anything is happening. Minimum temperature overnight was -6.5C and is only -6.0C as I write.
At least England look as though they have saved the cricket match. ~clap ~clap ~clap. Pity that it will all be over by the time that I get back home again.

TF_Waveney OneBelieve it or not, after -6.5C overnight and -4C at the 10 am start, M1 on Suffolk Water Park was only 2/3rds frozen so a few of us sat it out. Well, some of us sat it out, a couple had an early bath after blanking for 3 hours. After a pound plus skimmer caught after about an hour on the tip, I was leading the match easily, others had just a few roach on the tip and I had 2 or 3 of those as well. The last hour the roach turned up on the pole line and I sat it out on the tip – Dooh!
Anyway I ended up joint second with exactly 2lb. Not brilliant but at least we got a match in which is more than a lot of people.
