TF_The RunnerFroze and blanked on the R Colne at Uxbridge.
Only 8 people caught, mainly odd chub- three for 12-15 won it.
As far as I know, have no match at any of usual haunts next weekend, and not much intention of trying to find one ! -

TF_Fred Davis3 lb 10z at lake john, colin bartlett won the “trousers” ( ron Burrows) memorial match with 12lb +, lots of ice in the margins and a bit of ice breaking went on thankfully my swim was fairly clear of ice howevert colin said it’s the only one on the lake he dreads drawing as it’s not great, he was proved right, although I beat both the anglers either side so there was some satisfaction on drawing a rough peg, other lads faired even worse with the odd blank but generally a great match run for charity.

AnonymousFished Spey at Partridge in a teams of 4 today. Caught 5 F1s for 4lb 7oz and 3rd in the match. 9lb won with 4lb 8oz 2nd. Gutted to be beat in to 2nd by 1oz. Ouch! Only once before in over 30 years of match fishing have i seen a lake freeze over during the day. Had to clear my peg every 30 minutes of new ice to continue fishing. It was a bit cold!

tournament_prohad a whole 16lb at pans hill Feel like i bagged up lol
only 3lb was 2nd, 2lb was 3rd, then noone else had a fish
I had to break the ice about 10 times.
It was so cold my maggots froze! holy shit thats cold.
didnt get above -5 all day.
As the above comment, ive never known a lake freeze up so much during a match, they had the aerator on over night till 8am, soon as they switched it off you could visibly see the ice crystals beginning to form on the surface and within 15 minutes i couldn’t fish (not that i can anyway :))

TF_JonniTimmsFished Bonsai at Lindholme yesterday, my mate was up from down south and there was no way we werent fishing.
Caught a barbel early on a small method, then got loads of knocks and nudges for an hour but no proper bites, then nothing all afternoon.
There was a match on Oasis and i didnt see anyone catch at all from where i was, a few were just walking around, and when it started to snow they just packed up.
If i could have weighed the duck i caught mid flight i might have got more weight than the match lads LOL. Casted out the method and a duck flew just beneath it as it started to descend, the feeder wrapped round its leg.
My mate saw it but i was watching for splash down, but and all i saw was my pellets land in the water, and then the tip flying round. I thought it was a bit quick for a bite, and i only realised when the line started to head for the sky. Thankfully the duck freed itself on the ice as i started to work my way round the lake to free it, and was injury free.
Also, when we arrived yesterday it was -10, Bev said it have even reached -14. Luckily we were near the airator so the end of the lake we were on was pretty clear but as you reeled in there were icicles on the line and i was constantly having to clear the rod rings of ice, which was a nightmare, got into loads of tangles.

TF_welshmagicFished the open at Greenridge Farm on Saturday.
Very cold and very hard. Managed to win with 12 carp for 47lb 8oz. All caught from the same spot on the far-bank, didn’t feed a thing all day. Proper winter fishing!

The Winter league was called off so 15 of us smashed our way into Oasis. Could have been much worse, 4 chub and 2 carp for 11lb won it (one of the chub being 4lb), 10lb was 2nd consisting of 3 F1s and a chub and 8lb third. I had 5 F1s and about 20 odd bits for 7lb. Packed up 30 minutes early when a blizzard got up into my face, you couldnt pay me to sit in that!

TF_Waveney OneFished both days and broke ice yesterday but didn’t have to today on another lake on the same complex, Suffolk Water Park. Only 2/3rds of it was frozen. Yesterday I was 4th with 7lb 12oz of caster roach, today I had a level 2lb and managed 2nd =.
I am glad that I got out as if the forecasters of doom are correct it may be a few weeks until I get out again.
