        What a week at Hallcroft Fishery. Several inches of snow here and temperatures dropping below minus 10. Even the adjacent River Idle is starting to freeze over.
        We managed to get 3 reports….

        Bridge/Croft (21 pegs)
        1 D Downes, Killamarsh, 43-14-0; peg Bridge Outer 5
        Dave Downes fished the bomb with meat and corn catching carp up to 7lb early on
        2 A Payling, Peg One, 37-14-0; peg Bridge Island 26
        Arnie Payling alternated pole and pellet with bomb and corn for a net of small carp and bream
        3 R Smith, Notts AA, 18-6-0; peg Bridge Outer 24
        Roy Smith was third fishing bomb and hair-rigged corn

        1 A Sellars,, Bankside Tackle, 22-6-0; peg island 2 S Yorks
        Plummeting temperatures plus snow on the ground reduced the numbers of anglers today and those who braved it were always going to be in
        for a hard match. Andy Sellars made the most of a good winter peg catching small carp on the pole using pellet and corn

        Steve Barraclough caught all silverfish using bloodworm and joker
        3 A Oldham, Maver, 11-2-0; peg island 20 S Yorks
        Andy Oldham took third spot with carp and a couple of skimmers taken on pole and caster
        4 P Bagshaw, Barnsley Blacks, 67-6-0; peg outer 6 Derbys
        5 S Clark, Notts
        6 L Hewison, S Yorks

        1 B Holmes, Fox Trentmen, 9-14-0; peg BI 2 Notts
        Despite temperatures in excess of -10 degrees and the lakes freezing over during the day there were still some fish to be caught. Ben Holmes won from Bridge Island 2 with 1 carp and a couple of pounds of silvers using pole and bloodworm
        2 A Payling, Peg One, 7-0-0; peg MI 39 Notts
        Second was Arnie Payling who was pegged on Moat Island and he had a solitary carp on bomb and maggot
        3 G Gibson, Worksop, 6-8-0; peg Reed 11 Notts
        Gordon Gibson was third from Reed 11 and he caught all roach to bloodworm over joker at 11m

        5 P McIntyre, S Yorks
