just purchased a new tricast trilogy xs pole and had all the kits fitted with vespe elastic which i have previously never used. match kits fitted through top 2 with 2,3,4,5 and 6 solid for my small fish/canal work .big bore power kits been fitted with yellow hollow x2 which i’m told is very similar to white hydro ,green hollow x2 which i’m told is similar to black hydro and hollow red which is similar to purple hydro. The hollow elastic is only fitted through the big bore tip section though as opposed to the no3 aswell, which means i have about 1.5 meters of elastic which is the same amount as on the match kits. The reasoning behind this when i was discussing it with the shop was that i will beable to break down short when fishing shallow etc which i thought was quite true. Now i’ve got it home though i’m not so sure that it is enough elastic and worry it may be to harsh. Has anyone used this brand of elastic and thinks it is forgiving enough not to bump fish or cause hook pulls using such a short length? Any other comments on elastic lengths etc are also welcome………

1.5m of hollow is about right it will give quite a bit once used, alot of people use that length with a bit of dacron to enable it to fit other kits that are longer.
You might find that you could do with pull bungs even with that length but the strength of a tricast should enable you to land fish with a couple more sections on when other makes would make people cringe doing that.
