TF_craigmMine has to be either my Z9 or my MSB Euro, the Z9 has been a pleasure to use and has helped me to my best year regarding match results and the Euro has give life back to my bum cheeks after months sat on my worse purchase – a Brilo box. I’m not slagging off the Brilo as it was a well made box and the layout etc was perfect, but the flat seat was really uncomfortable and the box was top heavy – several times when walking to my peg it would tip forward causing the front drawers to throw my terminal tackle everywhere. Cost me a fortune in stotz.

TF_kev349-11 Beastmaster AX commercial Feeder rod which i bought from Rob Austin.
At 9ft its a joy to chuck short and at 11ft its perfect for the Glebe chucks…..
Preston method mould with 2mm pellets has made a big difference to my catch rate as well, quick easy and so simple to use…..

TF_baitchefParticipantThe best three were a 10′ mini shimano forcemaster tip rod, budget end, but its for carp so who cares? Preston 17h and Nick Gilbert pasters. All three paid for themselves pretty quickly.
Worst buy was a no name brand budget catapult that I quickly had to buy because my Drennan ones gave up again, it lasted three pulls!! lol

01/12/2010 at 3:50 pm #123862
TF_squattBest buys were a 14ft Aerocast heavy feeder rod, Titanos 4500 and some mint Conny z’s off Ebay.

TF_DecaffAnother vote for the MSB Euro, replaced my Rive, which I do miss, cos it was so pretty!
The Euro really is a nice bit of kit.
Also some Hillbilly Pikey Pastes, they do look the Dogs DooDahs. -

TF_mp.miloBest: Tri cast Aristocrat, pair of original 11-6 sentinents for bream fishing,Garbo round monster carp keepnets and some Daiwa catapults for pellet wag fishing which i havent seen in the shops.
Worst: A preston landing net handle which i got talked in to buying as i couldnt find a drennan ex strong.
I lifted a 1lb carp out and it split 6″ from the tip.
It split again when it hit the tree,in fact it split every time i wrapped it round the tree. lol -
01/12/2010 at 4:42 pm #123874
TF_badgerParticipantBest buys Preston method moulds,Garbolino hair net landing net.
Worst has to be some rope from B&Q to make an ice breaker the knot attached to the weight came undone on its own. -
01/12/2010 at 4:44 pm #123875
TF_blissParticipantBest = New Tri-Cast 8′ wand, and a ACE carp spool thingy that you put in a power drill to strip old line off spools ~clap
Worst = the plastic drawers in Rive units (very poor indeed!).~naughty

01/12/2010 at 8:36 pm #123915
TF_baitchefParticipantAnother best: Guru NGuage for hooklengths. The first time I used it it snapped on a fish on my very first cast. 3 spools and countless hooklengths later and it has never let me down since. Just one of those unexplained moments.

TF_scarfBest – Fox FX 10 – 11 ft Dual Feeder that I bought from Simon P on here. Make it up at 10ft for short chucks – stick the extra foot on for longer chucks without having to break it down and set it up again. And the action is flawless – top quality.
Close second – Shakespeare Mach 1 XT 9ft quiver. Just the job for real accuracy on snake lakes with the method. I honestly can’t fault it and it’s a proper bargain at £29 quid from tackle2U. It’s definitely not a buy cheap, buy twice product.Worst – Seymo weed cutter – first time I used it I had to go for a paddle to get it back when it pulled the end off my landing net handle (my fault) – second time I screwed it to a bank stick and the blade broke off the plastic mount.

01/12/2010 at 9:42 pm #123929
TF_GavinBest Buys; Garbo G-Max 800, won the first match I fished with it and it’s done everything I’ve asked of it since. Nick Gilbert Decker floats, actually found a pattern I’m happy with for deck fishing for carp, and they last! And even better I can have yellow tops ~clap Lastly, Preston hoolength box. A recent purchase but simple and bloody good! Easy to tie everything the same length and so easily even I bother to tie plenty.
Bad Buys; None really, been good this year and not bought any rubbish!
