TF_ever7onWhat is the difference between – Red power kits, Blue big fish kits and Green UK power kits?
What ones are the strongest, best balanced, etc?
Any advice appreciated.

TF_GetinbackRed – 3m, 2 piece power top kit, Blue – 3m, 3 piece power top kit, Green, 3m, 3 piece match top kit.
The best balanced of those is obviously the match kit and is used, generally, on commies with the number 1 removed. Not sure which is stronger of the red or blue as I don’t use them.
For even better balance there is the competition top 3 kit. Best used with a competition 4 and 5. Not suited to lump work though!

TF_ever7onCheers mate, but i think they have changed the format.
My match kits are yellow, big fish kits are blue and the green ones have UK carp top 2 printed on them. I have been offered a couple of red ones, i think these are older kits.
I’m not sure which ones are the strongest out of the UK carp 2’s and the Big fish (blue) kits, also are the red kits any good?
Very confusing and changing the colours doesn’t help!!!

TF_TimPI don’t think they have changed the format – just added UK Power Kits.
White/Silver – Competition – light lines
Yellow – Match – General Use
Green – UK Power – carp (2 sections – same as match 3 with 1 removed)
Blue – Big Fish
Red – Old style Carp – Very long sections and a little heavyPeronally I use the Yellow Match Kits with no1 removed for just about everything. The UK Power top 2’s (Green) seem pretty good (and cheap) and I use these for carping. I have some of the Red Carp tops which are very strong but definately unbalance the pole (774) and only use these for big elastics down the edge.
I also have a Big Fish Top 5 (Blue) for down the edge. (also backup 4 & 5 sections)
Hope this helps – let me know if you have any further questions.
Tim

TF_paulDAll sounds a bit complicated to me.
Try and have a look at the power match kits that Browning supply with the Z9 (and the z7 I think). Theyre incredibly light but I’ve got everything from a 4 solid to Preston 19h (with tip out) running through mine and havnt broken one yet.
A mate tried them and has now bought some for his Sensas 774 as they fit perfectly and he had a couple of the Sensas kits explode on him. He also says they make the pole feel better. I think he paid about 65 quid. I now use them for everything including margin fishing so no more crap heavy powerkits. -

jonbWhat would be the strongest elastic you would use in the yellow match tops with the no1 removed?
Also does a short no4 really make any difference to the balance or stiffness of the pole when fishing at distance?
Regards

TF_carpless 1Participantjon the only thing i use my red tops for are to peg my brolly down they make the 774 shocking, the old green kits are the match kits but have now been replaced with yellow as 2 years ago thats what was with the pole no yellow at all. i have replaced all my red with the new yellow tops the heaviest i go is black hydro but thats just because of the fisheries that i fish think the pole would go higher if req but cant say i have used it

jonbIve only got the 724 and have black hydro in the two red kits that came with it, does feel a bit heavy like, i may have to switch and put black hydro in the yellow kits and see what thats like,
Does the short no4 mae any difference to the balance etc? is it worth buying?
