Seeing a few G10’s coming onto the market now and selling for quite low money. Personally I’d opt for the brilliant G10,

I’ve held one, at shorter lengths is was crisp, light and responsive but at longer lengths I thought it was a bit of a handfull.

For the price of em mate id buy a second hand G10, a lot better pole.

All down to personal choice, get hold of one and see what you think

I’ve been using one since July and for the money I wouldn’t have anything else. I’m not the biggest bloke in the world (5-10 and 12 stone) and have fished whole matches at 17.5m (with a short 4, granted) and at anything shorter I find it a doddle.

The finish is easier to ship (most notably the sections with graphics) than my old Superlegion, and with regards to strength, I’ve had fish to 10lb down the edge on it with purple Hydro and .18 direct without brown trouser moments. The one piece of advice I’d offer is if you fish mostly commercials I’d try and swap some of the match-lite kits for powers (my dealer did) unless you plan to use 11h/white hydro or less in them.

Feel free to ask away if you want to know more!

Didn’t get a chance to have a look at a GXR3001 as it’s a new model and wasn’t available in the summer when I bought my G-Max! I have to admit it got a very good write up in PF mag- up to the individual if you believe the magazine write ups mind!
